Black hat google adsense marketing

admin
August 17th, 2007.

Throughout the years, google adsense has been closing loopholes for publishers who are in it to make a profit. Some of the loopholes were downright ugly and evil.

For example:

Google Adsense does not allow software developers to embed adsense code in their software. The reasons for this should be completely obvious. Some users of the software may click the ads in the program to support the developer. Aside from that, most software programs are limited in screen space. To allow a developer to embed code would be asking for trouble. They would have to place it in spots close to program functions or the content contained within the program. On top of that, how can google truly provide relevant ads contained in a software program. Google bases their relevance on the title tags, and page content on a website. However, I am sure there is a way for them to index content contained in an internet accessible software program.

There are programs like Google Clique which that famous developer tried to use to “negotiate” money out of Google. The program was an ad clicker. How it works is it threw random hits at a website using an IP tunneling method. It made Google believe each hit came from a unique IP address. Pair that with it’s ability to show unique hits and a good mix of clicks to make google believe that it was in fact real traffic and not a clicker. Most clickers would just click away and make Google suspicious. This one gave a good ratio which looks like valid traffic compared to clicks on the ads. Google ended up dropping charges against the developer because they would have been forced to release “secrets” to the public that would give SEO experts everywhere something to talk about. I personally know Google’s algo anyways so it doesn’t matter to me.

They have a thing against placing code near important parts of the website because when a visitor may want to click HOME they may accidently click on an ad instead. So they have rules explaining how far an ad must be away from the content and navigation on a website. (Yes, we follow these rules 100%).

After go9500i started giving to The Red Cross, we aparently created an uproar at the google adsense blog where advertisers started asking if that was ok. They believed that people would try to “support” the red cross cause by clicking out ads. (That didn’t happen”). Because of the nature of that mission some people actually avoided our ads like the plague!

The point to this post is to follow Google rules.

Revenue or loss of quality

admin
August 17th, 2007.

A couple years back a partner of mine and I started a website that became really big. We provided a service for indie musicians to sell their music online. They got a unique URL and they got access to a bunch of tools to track hits.
The thing about that website was that we believed in quality over revenue. The website got a TON of hits and regular traffic. Bands promoted the website all over the place. Not just online. We even got the website published in print books for musicians resources.
I thought of the idea to post Google Adsense but I opted for a clean website instead. The question remains, is there some websites out there that you just do not think it is wise to sacrifice the quality in exchange for a bit of revenue? Who has a website like that and where can I check it out?

Can I make money with Adsense?

admin
July 13th, 2007.

Sure you can. If you will learn how many other people make money online with Adsense, I mean really study how and ask a lot of questions on marketing forums, there is no reason in the world you cannot make money with the Adsense program.

Before starting to develop this opportunity to make money online you need to understand some basic things about Adsense. I will outline some benefits and disadvantages about Adsense here.

Let’s start with the Adsense benefits:

You don’t have to pay a fee to use this program. You can apply for free.

You can join the Adsense program very easy. After you are accepted into the program you just have to paste a bit of code into your pages.

Because of their method to identify what a page is all about you don’t have to spend time finding advertisers, they will place on your page the exact advertisers you need.

If you own a really big network of sites, you don’t have to apply for each of them. Just apply once and use the same code on every site.

And many other benefits but let’s take a look at the disadvantages too:

The biggest disadvantage that most users report is that the stats Google supplies are inadequate. Even if they’re very easy to understand they don’t tell you which ads people are clicking on, or which keywords are involved. That’s very frustrating.

The minimum payout is $100, users that have sites which don’t receive much traffic say that it’s too high. If you plan on doing from adsense a successful business. don’t worry about this.

If you want to display adsense ads you may not display other text based ads on the same page with them. When you apply humans will check your site for approval, if you are rejected just try to understand why they did, fix it and appeal again.

You will never know how much from the amount that advertisers pay you will receive. You will just receive an unknown percentage from that amount.

With this benefits and disadvantages in mind you can now start to learn all the inside secrets of adsense and develop a real online business. You can start doing so by reading about it on major make money online forums, tring to understand all there’s about it many users discuss this topic very deep.

Google Adsense - Making money online

admin
July 12th, 2007.

A partner of mine and I started a project a couple months back called The go9500i Project. It is a mission to earn $30,000 per month using Google Adsense.

We created a blog on the main URL, then we bought a bunch of domain names. We are building multiple websites that are useful to visitors but they display adsense ads here and there.

During this mission we created press releases to tell the public about the mission. We also called The Red Cross of Greater Chicago and told them we would be giving them 15% of all profits from adsense revenue. They ended up linking to the project from their website.

We have since been working hard on creating new websites (still in development) and we continue to post articles on various topics.

The idea behind this remains. Can we make $30,000 per month or more with Google Adsense? There are many large websites out there making well over that amount. Websites like PlentyOfFish.com which is a generic free dating website. They made a couple hundred thousand per month in adsense revenue.

We started a free foreclosure listing website for those in preforeclosure that need to sell fast. Realtors can also list their bank owned properties. Because of the huge growth in foreclosures this year alone you would think that this website would do great. The problem is bring such a website in front of the eyes of those who need the service. It is harder than you think on a very limited advertising budget.

While it may be hard to make money using adsense I am giving it awhile before I throw in the towel.
